Petitioners Compensated for Rudeness of Public Officials

Citizens who visit or call public offices with complaints or petitions more than twice due to unkind behavior on the part of public officials will be compensated up to 5,000 won.
The Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs (MOGAHA) announced, on March 17, that it will set up a 'reception desk for complaints' at all administration agencies and then make appropriate compensation to petitioners who suffer inconvenience at the hands of rude civil servants.
MOGAHA is planning to give petitioners 5,000 won to cover transportation costs or 2,500 won in
telephone costs.
It also will treat favorably kind public officials, but it will punish rude personnel with sensitivity classes and other disadvantages.
