Subway Riding More Enjoyable This Summer

Subway passengers will likely enjoy a cooler atmosphere this summer, far from the usual hot and humid climate passengers endure on subways.
Seoul Subway Public Corporation (SSPC) announced, on March 17, 'Proposals of improvement for air-conditioners in subway trains'.
It will replace air conditioners of small electrical capacity, currently used on subway lines one to three, with ones of larger capacities, anually, beginning this year.
It also will exchange outmoded air conditioners and replace the old trains on numbers one and two lines with new ones.
According to SSPC's proposals, the SSPC plans to exchange the air conditioners of 644 subway trains, 402 of which will be replaced either this year or next year and the rest by 2003.
