Sorinoon 98 Will Greatly Aid the Blind

Sorinoon 98, a computer program that allows blind people to read, was publicly unveiled at the main hall of the Korea Blind Union, located in Sanggye Dong, Seoul.
Operating on Microsoft's Windows operating system, Sorinoon 98 is the first program developed in the world for reading both Korean and English sentences simultaneously on real time.
Previously, Korean blind people could only hear Korean by using a sound card and a program called Kalasadae, which could only be used in a Dos environment. It is functionally restricted and very expensive.
Therefore, Sorinoon 98 will probably eliminate much of the inconvenience and it will be distributed free of charge.
Kim Eui Kyung, who developed Sorinoon, said it was very difficult developing a program that blind people could easily use.
