More Special Tourism Areas Designated

The local district government of Seoul's Joong-gu on March 23 decided that it will expand the number of ares designated as special tourist areas. These are areas frequented by foreign visitors.
It announced that it will name Namdaemun market, Myong-dong, Bukchang-dong and Sogong-dong area as special areas for tourism soon.
Joong-gu local district government will order consulting and advisory services before applying for the new tourist designations to Seoul Metropolitan Government later this year.
A source from the district said, 'Those place are full of foreign visitors with abundant fashion stores and jewelry shops plus hotels and leisure facilities, so it is our conclusion to protect this place as international site for foreigners.'
