Teacher Arrested for Series of Rapes
An elementary school teacher was charged with rape and robbery, a spokesman for the Inchon Police Department said on March 26.According to a source, Choi Dae-ok, a physical education teacher at Wonjong Elementary School in Puchon, is suspected of raping 25 women since November 1996.
He is also charged with robbing his victims of more than 500,000 won(US$400).
Choi, who was the silver medalist in Taekwondo competition at the 1982 National Sports Games, has served as an athletic instructor at primary schools in Puchon for the past 16 years.
