Pansori Singer Gives it Her All

The Korean traditional song style, 'Pansori', was sublimely demonstrated by female singer Lee Ju Eun on March 26 at the National Music Institute.
Miss Lee, who is only 27 years old, produces a voice that is deep and rich. Her vocal range is such that at times her voice resembles a man.
The diminutive singer's voice loudly resonates wherever she performs and there is no doubt that she gives each song everything she has.
Lee graduated from the National Music High School and Seoul National University and made her debut at a Dong-A music contest in 1992. Her teacher, Shin Young Hee(57), has been teaching Lee for 17 years.
'This is my first performance as a mature adult. I am now performing 'Hungbo', a folk song featuring a poverty-stricken but honest man. His plight actually makes me weep during performances.' Lee emphasized her passionate enthusiasm for traditional music.
