Lawmakers to Invest into Venture Companies

Lawmakers, whose actions few would describe as angelic, will have the opportunity to become 'angels' by investing into venture capital funds.
The Korea Chamber of Commerce (KORCHAM) announced on March 28 that it will hold an 'Angel Mart' at the National Assembly on April 7 under the auspices of the Small and Medium Sized Companies Forum within the National Assembly and the Seoul Angel Group.
Those who invest money into venture capital funds are commonly referred to as angels because their financial assistance is badly needed
At the Angel Mart more than 600 people including the speaker of the National Assembly, Junkyu Park, lawmakers, entrepreneurs and members of the Seoul Angel Group will take part. Seven venture companies will present their business plans in the hopes of acquiring investment.
A source at KORCHAM commented, 'At first 16 companies were recommended by lawmakers, but finally, only 7 companies were picked according to their value for investment.'
