Hanaro Telecommunication Commences Commercial Service

Hanaro Telecommunications became the nation's second local-service provider, when it launched commercial phone service in large metropolitan cities including Seoul and Pusan on April 1.
Accordingly, people can now select from two local services, Hanaro and the state-owned Korea Telecom, to find the most suitable service in terms of quality and telephone charges.
Customers will benefit from a competitive system. Already Korea Telecom has announced that it is going to develop new services in response to Hanaro, and subsribers are expected to have an increased range of options.
Hanaro will focus on attracting customers by offering unlimited Internet access for 50,000 won a month after subscibers pay an entrance fee of 120,000 won. However, this service is currently limited to apartment buildings and large companies.
Hanaro will expand its service to Taegu, Taejeon, and other cities this October.
