Weekend Market Opens in Kwachon
There will be a regular weekend market beginning April 9 that will deal in agricultural, livestock and seafood products. The market will be held in front of the Kwachon Government Complex every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.The market is being set up by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and area farmers will supply their products.
It will be open from 10 am to 7 pm, and customers can find discounts of up to 30 percent on most products.
The government also announced it will provide budgetary support for 30 similar market venues throughout the nation by 2001.
The Ministry reported that 3.6 billion dollars in sales were generated last year from direct wholesale markets.
