Summit Talks Between Korea and Egypt Bear Some Fruit

Korean president Kim Dae Jung and Egyptian President Mohammed Mubarak held a summit meeting at the president's office, Chong Wa Dae, on the afternoon of April 9 and discussed the necessity of the Korean government's engagement policy towards North Korea.
President Kim explained his comprehensive engagement policy, 'Sunshine Policy', towards N.K and requested the cooperation of the Egyptian government at the summit talks.
Mr.Mubarak, the first ever Egyptian president to visit Korea, responded with assurances of strong support and collaboration.
President Kim also appreciated Egypt's efforts to better relations beteen the two Koreas, and he asked for continued and unsparing assistance on the matter.
Both presidents exchanged opinions on the current affairs in the Middle East and agreed that peace in the area is critical to world security.
They discussed various ways to enlarge economic cooperation and promote mutual investment between the two countries.
Tomorrow, President Mubarak is scheduled to visit the National Assembly, and then meet Prime Minister Kim Jong Pil and other business V.I.Ps.
It is highly probable that President Mubarak will also visit NK this year.
