Internet Bidding More Competitive Less Corrupt

'Public Internet bidding prevents corruption.'
Since LG Wholesale recently succeeded in Internet public bidding, it is spreading widely among the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Pohang Steel Co., and most apartment managerial offices.
This system avoids face to face meetings and regular mail, as propenents claim that cyber space allows for fairer competition.
LG opened a homepage on March 2 specifically to allow companies to bid on providing LG with shopping bags.
All 11 companies that launched bids did not mention their exact prices until 20 minutes before the deadline, in a last minute fight that kept bids competitive.
LG said on this, 'To conduct a regular bidding system, we had to spend quite a lot of money last year. This year we saved at least 100,000 dollars through the Internet system.'
'It is not a system that requires a lot of personnel. All we had to do was use our fingers on the keyboard to induce applicants through our site.'
Although critics point out that it might lower the quality, nonetheless, they acknowledge it will soon be in the main stream of the country's bidding culture.
