2001 General meeting of ICA to be Held in Seoul

The general meeting of The International Cooperatives Association (ICA) will be held in Seoul, South Korea, in 2001.
The National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (NACF) announced on April 13 that the the board of directors of ICA selected South Korea, as host to the general ICA meeting scheduled for 2001.
The NACF stated that Won Chul Hee, the former chairman of NACF exchanged an agreement to hold the 2001 general meeting in Seoul with Roberto Rodriguez, incumbent chairman of ICA.
The general meeting of The ICA is a very large event of the agricultural cooperative association, where 2000 representatives from more than 100 countries, including the secretary-general of United Nations will be in attendance.
The ICA was founded in 1895 to promote the development of agricultural cooperatives, consumer cooperatives, and credit associations around the world, it includes 236 cooperatives from 93 countries as members and has held a meeting every two years. The Seoul's general meeting will the second to visit Asia the first was held in Japan.
