"Policies are Generally Being Accomplished"-Government

The Policy Evaluation Committee, an advisory body under the Prime Minister's Office, announced on April 15 that 91 percent of national policy items promised by the government have been achieved without hindrance.
However, it admitted that the expansion of the national pension scheme, new regulations governing pharmacists, and financial restructuring, in contrast, are moving slowly.
The Committee reported to Prime Minister Kim Jong Pil its 'Mid-term Report on National Policy Items' in which it declared its intention to encourage 13 policy items to be achieved as early as possible under the responsibility of the relevant ministries.
Twenty-five social and cultural items such as the unified broadcasting regulations and national pension system were deemed to be lagging, while in the economic sector there were 22 including chaebol restructuring.
The Committee selected the Ministry of National Defense and Ministry of Construction and Transportation as the best institutes; whereas, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade took the last spot for actively executing policies.
