SK Telecom Share Price Records Over 1 Million Won
The share price of SK Telecom recorded over 1 million won in the morning of April 16, before closing at 961,000 won on the day.The stock soared throughout Friday morning and at its peak recorded 1.035 million won a share, the highest price ever recorded on the Korean Stock Exchange.
The news that the limit on foreign investment in the biggest telecomunications company in Korea might be enlarged from 33 to 49 percent, boosted the share along with the recent bullish mood on the market.
A source from the company said they are now planning to split the face value of its share for more frequent trading.
The telecom firm went public in November 1989 at 22,000 won per share.
