Britain"s Queen Elizabeth II to Arrive in Seoul

Britain's Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Philip, will arrive in Seoul on the afternoon of April 19 for a four-day state visit.
Queen Elizabeth is the first British monarch to visit Korea since the two countries established commercial ties back in 1883.
After their arrival at Seoul Airport in Sungnam, the Queen and Prince will pay respects at the National Cemetary in Tongjak-dong and join President Kim Dae Jung and First Lady Lee Hee Ho for talks about deepening bilateral relations at Chong Wa Dae(the Blue House).
Queen Elizabeth II is scheduled to meet with the chairmen of conglomerates such as Hyundai, Samsung and Daewoo to promote investment between the two countries. She will visit several cultural areas, including Insa-dong in Seoul and Hahoi Village in Andong, to better understand Korean traditional culture.
The city of Andong is preparing for the Queen's 73rd birthday celebration party on April 21 in Hahoi Village.
Taking advantage of Queen Elizabeth's visit, the two countries will hold a Korean-English business world conference and a forum to discuss the ways to enlarge their relationship in terms of ecomonic and cultural aspects.
Stephen Brown, the British ambassdor to Korea, expressed the hope of both countries on April 18, 'The visit of Queen Elizabeth II will be a milestone in the 200-year relationship of Korea and England.'
