Lee Hoi Chang Changes Tactics

Lee Hoi Chang, the opposition leader of the Grand National Party(GNP), has recently been changing his style.
He was once busy defending the ruling National Congress for New Politics(NCNP), but is now pinpointing President Kim Dae Jung for many of the problems the country is facing.
Previously he often displayed an ambiguous attitude towards the ruling coalition and the press, but now he calls frequent press conferences to criticize the ruling party's mishandling of affairs.
Lee stated, 'Divisions among a political party might lose national support and erode the foundation of a party; however, while a leader must be charismatic, he must objectively judge party standards and reshuffle things from time to time.'
His 'Second Establishment' of his party is an attempt to end the era of the three Kims - President Kim, former President Kim Young Sam, and Prime Minister Kim Jong Pil.
He is even considering changing the party's name and charter.
Lee put forth his plan for 'Millenium Leadership', which, among other things, calls for more opportunities for younger members.
