GNP to Strongly Tackle Koh Seung Duk"s Compaign Abandonment

The Grand National Party(GNP) decided to strongly deal with Koh Seung Duk, the lawyer and TV personality who was slated to be running in the by-election in Songpa Kap, a district in eastern Seoul. Koh was nominated as the GNP's candidate but he abruptly abandoned the campaign.
The GNP is considering taking all necessary steps regarding Mr. Koh's resignation, including boycotting the by-elections scheduled in both Songpa and in Kyeyang-Kanghwa, Inchon on June 3. It may even halt its participation in the ongoing extraordinary session of the National Assembly.
Lee Hoi Chang, GNP's leader, said, 'The GNP will deeply probe into Koh's resignation because he was presumably forced to renounce his candidacy'.
Lee received the news of Mr. Koh's sudden change of mind while he was traveling to Yeosan, South Chungcheong Province, said Ahn Taek Soo, spokesman of GNP.
Shin Kyoung Sik, secretary-general of the GNP, stated that the GNP cannot but seriously weigh Koh's actions if it affects the outcome of the two by-elections.
He harshly criticised that the candidate was forced to resign under intense pressure by the ruling coalition. Koh's father-in-law, Park Tae Joon, is the leader of the United Liberal Democrats.
