AMCHAM to Create a Large Scale Fund for Jobless

The American Chamber of Commerce and Trade (AMCHAM) is going to create a large scale fund for the jobless.
AMCHAM is the first foreign economic group to create the fund in South Korea.
Jeffrey Jones, chairman of AMCHAM announced on May 4 that AMCHAM members will collect unemployment funds totaling 10 to 20 billion won and then use it to retrain the jobless.
AMCHAM also plans to conduct a large charity performance for helping the unemployed at the Sejong Cultural Center around September or October.
It will use the funds to supplement the wages of new workers employed in small and medium-sized firms and retraining the jobless.
AMCHAM will continue to create the fund for jobless until the unemployment problem ends in Korea.
