Kimhae International Airport to be Completely Changed by 2004

A large-scale terminal for passengers and cargo is going to be constructed in the Kimhae International Airport, South Kyongsang Province by 2004.
This is just part of Kimhae Airport's complete overhaul to remake it into a new international airport.
Long distance flights to Europe and North America will soon be available because the construction of a new runway is scheduled to be finished by 2000.
The Ministry of Construction and Traffic (MOCT) announced on May 9 the basic plan to expand the second stage of Kimhae Airport.
The plan calls for MOCT to enlarge the airport facilities to accomodate international flights by investing 310 billion won through to the year 2004. This is part of the preparation for the expected rise in demand for air travel in the next two decades.
The old international terminal will be demolished to make room for a new modern terminal.
