Korea-Russia Orchestra to Perform Founding Concert
An orchestra organized by Korean and Russian students will be established.The Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced on May 11 that the 'Korean-Russian Youth Orchestra', consists of students of the National University of Arts and the National Moscow Tchaikovsky Institute. The music group will work out of the Tchaikovsky institute starting on May 27 and at the National Theater in Seoul on June 7.
This orchestra with 50 members will select 25 students from each school through the audition.
Tchaikovsky's 'Rococo Variation', and Vivaldi's 'Violin Concerto' will be performed at the establishment concert.
Following this concert, the orchestra will give concerts in both countries when big events between Korea and Russia are held.
A source in the ministry said, 'It's the first time to organize an orchestra accompany between Korea and Russia. The establishment of this orchestra will contribute to improving the cultural relationship between the two countries.'
