Hangul & Computer Accuses Microsoft of Unfair Trade

Hangul & Computer Company(HCC) filed a motion with the Fair Trade Commission(FTC) on May 20 accusing Microsoft of unfair trading practices.
In the suit, HCC claimed, 'Microsoft's new sales campaign, launched on April 29, is unfair, and the FTO should suspend it.'
Microsoft has recently been selling its Windows operating system, the application program MS Office, and two other software programs for a tenth of the regular price to schools and colleges.
Regarding this system, Microsoft said, 'This is not a marketing strategy but a support program to induce the legal use of our copyrighted software while aiding educational facilities in building an information-oriented system. We introduced this educational support program, which has been operating in Canada and the U.S., to Korea according to the demand of schools.'
Microsoft added, 'We will do nothing until the FTO officially notifies us.'
