Light Water Reactor Fund Generated by Electricity Tax

The government on May 25 decided to generate the funds for constructing a light water reactor in North Korea from from domestic electricity fees.
A 3 percent surtax on users utility fees will be added over the next five years.
The government held a cabinet meeting on May 25 and concluded to collect the fund through taxation.
However according to the new regulation, the tax will be introduced 'when there exists no more economic crisis', which is not effective from this year.
Moreover, the fund from the electricity tax must be used solely for the support of North Korea's light water reactor construction.
The Korean government will supply 70 percent of the total funds for reactor construction, which is estimated to reach 3.2 billion dollars.
