Medical Coverage for Korean-Americans

Q:I am a Korean-American currently staying in Korea. Can I receive medical insurance coverage here?
A:A Korean-American who holds a green card and stays in Korea for more than 3 months, can attain insurance. It is also possible to obtain Medical insurance for longer periods of stay.
Applicants are required to bring their passport, green card and entrance certificate to the nearest branch of the national medical insurance administration authority to obtain the qualification.
The coverage starts as soon as one pays for 3 months worth of insurance.
Even foreigners staying for the purpose of study abroad, arts, culture, and teaching may receive coverage.
The service is valid until one leaves Korea. Foreign students are able to get a 30 percent of discount for the insurance. (02)3270-9101
