Korean, US Business Leaders to Meet in Washington

The 12th Korea-U.S. Business Conference will be held in Washington D.C., U.S., from June 13 through 15.
According to sources on Friday, 80 or so business
leaders from Korea and the U.S. will participate in the annual conference to discuss ways to promote bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries.
The Korean delegation, headed by Koo Pyong Hwoi, Chairman of the Korea-U.S. Business Council,
includes former Vice Premier Nam Duck Woo, and Cho
Suck Rai, Chairman of Hyosung Group.
The U.S. side includes Thomas J. Usher, Chairman & CEO of the USX Corporation and Robert L. Lumpkins, Vice Chairman of Cargill Corporation, among others.
During the three-day conference Lee Hong Koo, Korean Ambassador to the Unites States and Richard W. Fisher, Deputy of the USTR (United States Trade Representative) are scheduled to give speeches regarding bilateral trade between the two nations and security issues around the Korean peninsula.
The Korea-U.S. Business Conference, initiated in 1988 to strengthen the two countries' business ties, convenes in June or July every year, by turns in Seoul and Washington.
