Directory Assistance Fee Hike for Cell Phones Cancelled

The hike in the charge for directory assistance for cellular phone users slated for this month has been cancelled.
The Ministry of Information and Communication announced, on June 14, at a press conference, 'We decided to cancel the fee raise for cell phones' directory service to 127 won from 80 won per call, due to the strong antipathy of citizens.'
As a result, the fee for '114' service for cell phones will remain the same as ordinary phones at 80 won per call.
A source in the ministry said, 'Cell phone users will pay the same fee even for calls made from June 1 as well, as we have not sent out the bills yet.'
