Korea 22nd in WEF Survey of Industrial Competitiveness

Korea was ranked 22nd among 59 countries in a survey by the Geneva-based World Economic Forum (WEF) in terms of industrial competitiveness.
The WEF' rankings released on July 13 unsurprisingly revealed that Asian countries, which have suffered under a prolonged financial crisis, dropped in ranking. Thailand and Indonesia were ranked 30th and 37th respectively.
Singapore, which occupied the top spot last year, once again came out on top, followed by the U.S., Hong Kong and Taiwan. Japan dropped down two notches to 14th place from last year's 12th spot.
According to the report, it will take a further two or three years to properly assess whether Asian countries' have recovered economically.
