Big Int"l Culture Festival to Be Held Biennially in Seoul

An international culture and art festival named 'Medai-City Seoul', which mixes high technology with art, will be held every other year in Seoul from 2000.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government said on July 16
it has inaugurated a standing committee for the festival and decided to open the first event on September and October next year and the second one in 2002 during the time when the World Cup culture festival begins.
It was learned that the Medai-City Seoul will feature a media and art exhibition in which artists from here and abroad participate, an international symposium and a variety of multi-media shows about virtual reality, animation, the Internet, holograms and related fields.
The city authortities are going to consign the event to a private foundation to enhance the creativity and effectiveness of the festival.
