Ex-Pres. Officially Declares War Against Current Pres.

Former President Kim Young-sam took direct aim at President Kim Dae-jung on Monday.
In a statement issued to the press the ex-president blamed the current leader for breaking his election pledge to introduce a parliamentary cabinet system in order to maintain power indefinitely.
'Seeking to pass a constitutional revision at the end of his term instead of this year is a betrayal of the people and is designed to perpetuate his power,' the ex-president claimed.
Having declared his intentions last week to reactivate the Minju Climbing Club, a quasi-political group of his followers, Kim Young-sam said in the July 26 statement that he will establish a new political framework to fulfill people's dreams and hopes, and ensure freedom and justice.
He also warned the president of a people's protest over his lying about the parliamentary cabinet system in the press conference at his residence in Sangdo-dong, Seoul.
Kim, disappointingly, declined to hold a question-and-answer session with the press.
Meanwhile, the opposition camp declined to give an official comment on the former president's statement unlike the coalition ruling camp which slashed the former president as an irresponsible person.
