Korean Hair-Restoring Food Popular in World Market

A Korean health food thought to restore head hair growth has been gaining popularity on the world market.
A food venture firm Korea H&C Co. launched sales of the health food, named 'Morigana' (which means 'hair-restoring') last October.
Exports of the health supplement rose sharply after it received food safety approval from the Food & Drug Administration of the United States and Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare early this year.
Total exports of the health food reached $5 million by the end of August and are estimated to hit $10 million by the end of the year.
In tests on 500 people, over 70 percent experienced regained scalp hair growth.
Morigana is very different from existing hair-restoring medicines as it is made from natural products including black beans and sesame seeds.
