Foreign Travel To Be Brisk during Chusok Holidays

Holiday travel is expected to be brisk as the disastrous circumstances of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout have been improving.
Major travel agencies such as Kolon, Lotte and Hanjin have sold out all popular tours of China, Japan, Guam, Saipan and Southeast Asian countries during the Chusok holidays which are from September 23 to 26.
Kolon had secured 800 seats on Asiana Airlines flights headed for adjacent Asian countries, but said there are few seats left. It added that there is almost no demand for far away European and Australian destinations during the same period.
Lotte also has a small number of tickets remaining for Saipan and Guam but other popular Asian routes are 100 percent reserved.
A source from Lotte Travel Agency said, 'Lots of family members do not intend to perform rites at home this year. Instead, children have presented their parents with trips to foreign countries as a demonstration of filial devotion.'
Domestic condominium rooms are also fully booked. Pusan and the Mt. Sorak area are almost fully booked up for the holiday period.
