Ruling Party Announces Promoting Members for New Party

The ruling National Congress for New Politics (NCNP) Sunday announced the list of initial platform members for the organization of the new party, including former Seoul vice mayor Kang Deok-ki, former chairman of the national colleges' association Im Jong-seok and 1992 Barcelona Olympics marathon gold medalist Hwang Young-jo.
Looking at the members by region, Kyongsang province came top with 9 members out of the 25, followed by Seoul and Kyonggi province with 8, and Choongchung and Kangwon province with 3 each.
These members who have been called will provide the platforms of the new party to be created by November 25.
Kim Min-seok, spokesperson of the promoting organization said, 'The NCNP considered harmony between different sectors, professions, regional backgrounds to be essential for the upcoming 21st century alongside a high standard of morality and freshness.'
It will also prepare the strategy and plans for tthe general election slated for April 2000.
