Military Corruption Investigation Enlarged
The Ministry of National Defense Monday announced that it is investigating 22 members of the Military Police (MP) on bribery charges.According to the ministry, 22 MPs including 4 officers are believed to have received up to $4,100 in return for securing preferred assignments, medical exemptions and early discharges for new recruits for the country's mandatory military service.
Military prosecutors organized a five-man inspection team which is questioning those parents who delivered money to MPs.
The ministry also established a special inspection team with 10 members to uncover any other illegal activities in the Arm Forces.
