Investigation Administration"s Mistaken Acquittal Judgments Jump

The number of erroneous acquittal judgments given due to insufficient investigation or misunderstanding of the law of investigation administration have jumped by twice the number recorded the previous year.
According to a report released Wednesday by the Public Prosecutions Administration, out of 840 acquittal judgments, the number made due to insufficient investigation or misunderstanding of the law of investigation administration soared to 85 from last year's July to last June from 44 recorded a year earlier.
Classified by reason, insufficient investigation occupied 61 percent or 52 cases, followed by 15 cases of misunderstanding the law and 4 cases of wrong application of the law.
The number of people who were acquitted from September of last year to last August climbed to 1,299 from 531 recorded in the previous year.
