FBI Director to Visit Seoul on Nov.8
Louis Freeh, who heads the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the United States, is scheduled to visit Korea. An official at the Justice Ministry said that the FBI's director will come to Seoul on November 8 to attend the World Interpol Conference, adding that an advance security team will arrive earlier to safeguard him from possible dangers.
The director put off a planned visit to Seoul last April because the Kosovo crisis broke out.
He will deliver the keynote address for the Interpol conference, scheduled for November 9.
Following that, the FBI's head will reportedly meet with Justice Minister Kim Jong-kil, Public Prosecutor General Park Soon-yong, the head of the National Intelligence Service Chun Yong-taek, and the chief of the National Police Agency Kim Kwang-sik, in order to discuss stationing an FBI agent as an attache at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul to help facilitate cooperation with Korean investigative authorities.
