Manufacturers of Spy Camera Under Arrest

Manufacturers and distributors of spy cameras have been arrested by the prosecution.
The southern branch of the Seoul District Prosecutor's Office has arrested 6 people, including a Mr. Hong, aged 39, responsible for the large-scale production of spy cameras, on the charge of violating laws concerning telecommunication protection.
Prosecutors have also put 10 people, including a Mr. Koh, 25, who sold the spy cameras to large discount stores across the nation, under arrest on the same charges.
The 6 manufacturers including Mr. Hong have been arrested on the charge of having illegally produced 160 spy cameras and sold them for between 70,000 to 100,000 won each to the 10 distributors.
The prosecution said that the cameras enable not only secret filming but also eavesdropping, as they are equipped with both high-tech lenses and microphones.
