Seoul 5th Highest out of 22 Asian Cities in Investment Costs

Seoul placed fifth out of 22 Asian cities in terms of the price of doing business in Asia for investors.
On Monday, the Daewoo Economic Research Institute released a report entitled 'Competitiveness of Business Costs in 22 Asian Cities', which analyzed costs in eight different business areas such as workers' wages and office rental prices and ranked them from most expensive to least expensive.
According to the report, money for business operations in Seoul was needed fifth most among the Asian cities.
Seoul had the second highest wages and oil costs, following Hong Kong, and occupied third place in office space rentals after Taipei and Hong Kong.
However, Korea's largest city ensured a degree of competitiveness in the cost of telecommunications and electricity compared to rivals in Asia because back in the 1980's the Korean government made substantial investment in the expansion of telecommnuications and electricity-generationg facilities.
