Prosecution Investigates KAL Chairman Cho

The prosecution summoned on November 9 the chairman of Korean Air Lines, Cho Yang-ho.
Chairman Cho has allegedly evaded 67.3 billion won of taxes by failing to declare 1 trillion won of income.
The prosecution is investigating suspicions that Cho gathered 168.5 billion won of hidden money from a 288.1-billion-won rebate received during the purchase of airplanes.
Suspicions that Cho evaded 96.7 billion won of gift tax is also under investigation by prosecutors, while the prosecution plans to decide appropriate legal punishment for him on November 10 or 11.
The prosecution reportedly also confirmed that the brother of Cho Yang-ho, Cho Soo-ho, president of Hanjin Shipping, was related with tax evasion of 1.01 billion won.
Regarding the chairman of the Hanjin Group and also Cho sibling, Cho Choong-hoon, the prosecution will summon him on the morning of November 10.
