Former Prosecutor-General Kim Under Arrest

The Supreme Prosecutor's Office arrested on November 4 former prosecutor-general Kim Tae-jong on the charge of leaking secret information on official affairs.
The arrest of the former prosecutor-general, who was promoted to justice minister in President Kim Dae-jung's administration but stepped down from the office after he was found to have committed unlawful acts, is unprecendented in the history of Korea since it was founded in 1948.
A judge at the Seoul District Court issued a warrant for the arrest of Mr. Kim at 5 p.m. on Saturday because of concerns that he might destroy evidence related to the 'Dress Lobby' document.
The former prosecutor-general was charged with passing a copy of the report on the dress scandal, which was initially delivered to him by Park Joo-sun, former legal affairs secretary to the Blue House (Chong Wa Dae) at the end of Feburary this year, to the former vice-chairman Park Si-on of the Shindonga Group, with the front page and seven proposals in the report removed.
