Mud Fight in the Construction Site

"Now this is just another political dogfight!"
"They should mind their business instead of slandering rival businesses."

Those are the words of construction union workers toward construction sector businessmen, who are doing their utmost to win orders for the reconstruction of the Jukong apartments in Kaepo-dong, Seoul. Kaepo-dong is scheduled to select corporations for its reconstruction soon.
Kaepo 1 apartment has become the biggest reconstruction project of the year. Hyundai Construction, Hyundai developement, Samsung Corporationn, Daewoo, "the Big 4," all eagerly formed a consortium for the reconstruction but now all want a bigger piece of the pie.
These days it seems like these companies are more absorbed in backbiting rivals than promoting their own quality. The general atmosphere got rough last month as the competition for orders got out of control.
The situation turned even uglier with the companies degrading each other. In the end, the competitors found themselves filing lawsuits against each other for slandering each other's reputations.
Amid the cut-throat competition of winning orders for redevelopment and reconstruction, smear campaigns are not unheard-of, but this is the first time it has been taken into the court room.
Meanwhile, with harsh sentiments reaching its peak, Kaepo-dong area found itself inundated with malignant advertising papers.
Domestic Korean construction businesses do not need any of these mishaps since it already has had bad publicity from the begining.
Faulty constrcution, dumping, conspiring during bidding, and so on has been enraging the public for a long time. Public confidence is especially hard to gain in this particular sector, yet company officials are continuing foolish acts by smearing each other's image.
Such conduct outraged not only the union workers but also the people in the construction business. The construction sector is likely to only succeed in soiling its already problematic image and fail in settle on fair rules for business.
