Dong-a University To Admit TOEFL and TOEIC Scores as Credit

Dong-a University has decided to admit TOEFL and TOEIC scores and computer science certificates as credits. Students with a TOEIC score over 800 or a TOEFL score over 500 will get 2 credits, exempting them from taking mandatory English courses.
The credits will be added into a graduate's records, without a grade.
Lee Chang-hoon, the coordinator of the department of school affairs, said, "Forcing students who already have a certain level of English proficiency to take English classes is redundant. Our decision will allow them to take an interest in other fields of study."
