Central Election Committee's Investigation on Eve of April Elections
The Central Election Management Committee reported on March 16 that two people are being investigated under the committee's anti-corruption drive. This is the first case since the start of the April general election campaign.According to the committee, the two allegedly visited a political party's office in Kyunggi-do last month and demanded money and executive positions within the party. If convicted, they face a maximum of 10 years imprisonment or a $4,300 - $26,000 won fine.
The committee awards $200 for any tips leading to a conviction.
