Parties Rush to Hold Campaign Conventions
The ruling Millennium Democratic Party(MDP),held a convention for young party members on Friday morning at the MDP headquarter building in Yoido. Several party leaders including campaign committee chair Lee In-che and general secretary Kim Ok-du were present at the convention.Party leader Soh Yong-hun was absent due to hisvisit to the MDP offices in southeastern Kyongsang Province. Lee also attended district conventions in Mapo, northern Seoul and Soku-Eul distirct in Daechon city to rally support for the MDP.
The opposition Grand National Party (GNP) had a series of meetings on campaign strategy at their headquarters in Seoul yesterday. The meeting was supervised by Hong Sa-duk chief campaign manager for the GNP.
Meanwhile, GNP President Lee Hoi-chang visited numerous district conventions in the Seoul metropolitan area, including Yo-chu and Ichon in Kyongki Province and Nowon-Kap Seoul.
The United Liberal Democrats (ULD) were also busy campaigning. The founder of the party, Kim Jong-pil, and current president, Lee Han-dong, stopped visited Kyongsang Province and Kyongki Provinces respectively.
The Democratic People's Party (DPP) had district launching conventions in Chechon and Danyang city, northern Chungchong Province in the morning and Ulchin-Pongwha city, northern Kyongsang Province in the afternoon.
