The main item on the agenda was the upcoming Japan-North Korea meeting on April 4 and related issues.

The two ministers also made arrangements for President Kim's visit to Japan slated for May or June.

Other points of discussion included giving voting rights to Korean residents in Japan, setting up investment protection, settling unbalanced trade payments, the G-8 summit to be held in Okinawa in July, and the ASEM meeting slated for October in Seoul.
