More Politicians' Sons Investigated for Draft Dodging
A joint investigation team investigating high-profile draft dodgers, revealed on March 30 that it will investigate around ten sons of politicians singled out by the Anti-Corruption Alliance, in addition to the 31 already being investigated.A representative for the investigation team said, "During our investigation, we've received more reports on politicians that have taken actions to avoid military conscription for their sons." He added that an additional ten politicians' sons are expected to be investigated.
In related news, the joint investigation team held Mr. Ha, ex-staff on the Military Manpower Administration (MMA), on charges of bribery.
Mr. Ha was deputy to the MMA's vice president, until his resignation in 1993. Ha is suspected of receiving close to $27,000 to tamper with medical records, along with army surgeon, Sergeant Major Park Noh-hang.
