"I Will Devote Myself To The People": Politicians' Favorite Lie
What is the most popular lie made by candidates running for the general election? A matchmaking company conducted a survey on this question for the upcoming April Fools Day and, "I will devote myself to the people," was selected as number-one lie.
The matchmaking company, Sunwoo Corporation, interviewed 500 people over the telephone, all unmarried men and women in their 20s or 30s, between March 27 and March 29. In this poll, 24 percent (120 respondents) selected this statement as the most common lie. "I am an honest and conscientious man," was selected as the number-two lie with 17.2 percent.
The respondents also selected "I will keep my campaign promises without fail," (11.2 percent) and "I will make our community the best" (10.8 percent).
