Forest Fires and Political Flames

The forest fires in Kangwon district have started a political fire over wether the fire was a natural or man made calamity.

The opposition blames the ruling party and describes the fire as a man made event and blame the government for not reacting adequately.

Lee Hoe-chang, the president of the opposition Grand National Party (GNP), remarked, "President Kim's administrative vacumn is responsible for the forest fires which are double the number of last year. These fires could have been coped with effectively if the addministration was not focused so intently on the election."

The ruling party looked to nature as the source of the problems. The ruling Millenium Democratic Party (MDP) retorted, "Protecting human life should have priority. A good politician never looks at the faults of another without worrying about the people first."
