President Kim and First Lady Cast Their Votes

President Kim Dae-jung, and First Lady Lee Hee-ho cast their ballots at the 1st polling station in Chongno-gu, Seoul at 8 a.m. on April 13, election day.

Welcomed by Seoul Mayor Koh Kun, the couple shook hands with voters and thanked officials busy in facilitating the smooth election.

"This will be remembered as the fairest election in Korean history," president Kim was quoted as saying. "It will pave the way to democracy", he added.

However, he also expressed concern, saying "I am sorry that corruption, malicious propaganda, and regionalism might still mar the elections."
