Korean Vice-Minister of Defense to Visit Vietnam

The Korean Ministry of National Defense announced that Vice-Minister Park Yong-ok would make an official visit to Vietnam from April 22-26, and that he would have a conference with his Vietnamese counterpart on April 24.

Park's visit to Vietnam will be made in response to the invitation of Vietnam's Vice-Minister of Defense Nguyen Huy Hien. The two will discuss the masacre of Vietnamese civilians by South Korean troops that occured during the Vietnam war.

Additionally, both Vice-Ministers agreed that talking about the quote, "unfortune past", including the massacres carried out by South Korean troops' during the Vietnam War would not unduly affect relations between the two countries.
