Chief of Naval Staff to Visit China
Chief of Naval Staff, Lee Su-yong, will become the first chief of staff to visit China when he goes there for talks from April 25 to May 1.The visit was arranged on March 1 at a conference attended by both the Korean and Chinese ministers of defense.
Lee is to meet Chinese minister of defense, Zhu Haoten; chief of army staff, Fu Zhuienyu; and commander of the navy, Su Winsung in separate meetings to discuss matters of common interest to the two countries, including military cooperation and inter-Korean relations.
From April 28, Lee is scheduled to visit naval bases at Chingdao and Shanghai, concerning training exchanges with Korea.
