President Meets CPPCC Vice-chairman Zhao Nanqi
President Kim Dae-jung met Zhao Nanqi, vice-chairman of the Ninth Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) at Chong Wa Dae, the president's residence, on April 25.
At the meeting, the president expressed his hopes for continued cooperation between the two nations, especially with regard to North-South matters, saying "the ties between Seoul and Beijing have strengthened greatly since the Joint Statement made in 1998, which characterized relations between Seoul and Beijing as those of good neighborliness, friendship and cooperation." The president added, "I hope our friendship will continue and be cultivated further."
